Sufi Stories Live, Volume One

Sufi Stories Live, Volume One

With Saadi Neil Douglas-Klotz

“I have gone rummaging through my archives and begun to unearth some of the best live recordings of Sufi stories and world wisdom tales that I have shared over the past decade. Stories like this are not meant to be explained or interpreted. They go beyond allusion and metaphor. Instead, they represent a mirror of our consciousness, reflecting back to us states and conditions that go beyond words, and having been touched, can lead to an “aha!” of the soul.”—Neil Douglas-Klotz

The first volume contains:

  • Mullah Nasruddin’s Jobs
  • Mullah and the Parrot
  • The Goldsmith’s Daughter
  • Mullah’s Missing Donkey
  • Sufi Stories of Mariam and Jesus
  • The Shaykh and Halva
  • Jonah’s Zikr and Story

Resurrection of Life: Easter with the Aramaic Jesus

See what the workshop contains. Download a Contents List as a FREE PDF DOWNLOAD.

This recording of a retreat which took place in California over the Easter weekend of 2014 has three main themes. The first one is the Aramaic Prayer of Jesus (‘Lord’s Prayer’). The second theme covers Neil’s recent in-depth study of the Gospel of John, and the third theme is that of ‘Jesus and the Sufis’ – this refers to the interface between early Syriac and Arabic Christianity, and Islam; both similarities and differences.

Listen to meditations, chants and Dances of Universal Peace using the words of Jesus to experience his timeless wisdom. Hear Neil’s teachings about the Last Supper, the importance of both light and the breath to Jesus, the link between Jesus and Holy Wisdom, and theories surrounding what really happened at the time of the resurrection.

13 tracks – over 14 hours in total [Note: this is a BIG file to download].

Bridge

Bridge: The Way of the Spiritual Traveller

Bridge: The Way of the Spiritual Traveller

A musical journey from the mystical traditions of the Middle East

a collaboration of Neil Douglas-Klotz, Abraham Sussman and friends

“The world is a bridge. Walk on and over it, but don’t build your house upon it.”
– traditional Sufi saying attributed to Jesus

Bridge follows the way of the traveller through the peaks and valleys of the spiritual path. Through the ages, mystics in the Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions have described the stages of this journey in metaphor, poetry, story and song. Bridge finds its place in this long tradition. It follows the modern “pilgrim’s progress” as a seeker, dervish or spiritual nomad confronts the desire for guidance, meaning, love and purpose while simultaneously meeting the challenges of life’s natural confusion, grief and loss. Bridge is not organized by spiritual prayers or texts, but rather by the process of life. Most of the phrases used come from the sayings of Jesus in the Aramaic language, which I have previously translated, supplemented by traditions of the Sufis and Jewish mystics.

It was a blessing and a joy to collaborate again with Abraham and Halima Sussman, as well as the team of musicians who joined us, several of whom contributed to our previous recording Beginnings. Without Abraham, the project would not have got off the ground, nor followed its way to such a graceful and beautiful fulfillment. May we continue to travel further together, walking the bridge, passing through and beyond who we think we are.
