Suppose you had experienced the purpose of human life, the secret of what comes after death and what comes next for each human being. Suppose you could transmit the heart and feeling of this wisdom to people you loved. Suppose you were present to receive such wisdom from your spiritual guide. This is what Yeshua’s close students experienced, as evidenced in all of the Gospel accounts (orthodox and non-orthodox), as viewed through his (and their) native language, Aramaic.
Throughout the ancient world, the words “know yourself” rang as theme in all of the initiatic and mystery schools of the time. Rarely, if ever, was this inner knowing communicated through deep love, friendship, and relationship. This is what we witness in the stories and sayings of Jesus, centered around his final months with his students.
We can see him leaving a radical program for understanding who “I” am, not only for his students of that time, but also for us now as well as for healthy human consciousness in the future. The question “who am I and what am I really for?” still resounds deeply within us. We also can view it being acted out around us in more and more selfish, acquisitive, and dysfunctional ways. Yeshua shows an alternative.
In this free one-hour webinar, I show how Yeshua’s real heart-wisdom program, through his well-known “I am” sayings, has been mistranslated and misinterpreted as only being about believing certain thoughts and ideas, for instance, Jesus as the “only way” as means to “salvation.” Many people today either find such ideas abstract and unrelated to their own experience or hold them as sound-bite clubs to beat others over the head with. The abundant art, poetry, music, and mysticism of Christianity that flourished through the ages dries up when religion becomes increasingly politicized and weaponized.
I have dedicated more than 40 years of research, scholarship, meditation, spiritual practice, and artistic inspiration in the service of uncovering the real Yeshua and the ways he anticipated what humanity could become if it did not realise its real self and purpose, beyond abstract ideas of both duality and non-duality. He also points the way to a healthy human consciousness, fully awake, aware, and active in times like ours.
Many of my students have come to this work for healing and because they had an intuitive feeling that there must be more to Jesus than they had heard or were taught. Other people have been affected, often negatively, by experiences of ideas, thoughts, and creeds based around the words and teachings of Jesus. Even those who have gone far away from Christianity into other traditions have found that these memories and experiences stand in the way of them going further.
They were freed when they heard what Jesus really said, in the language he spoke, Aramaic. Looking through this lens reveals a deep spirituality that is clear and obvious. Feeling the words in chant, body awareness, and contemplation has transformed their lives.
